Tiger is unguilty!

Tiger Woods withdrew 12th of Mai after he played the first 9 holes with a result of 9 over at TPC Sawgrass. He had a sprained left ankle and knee. As we remember, he had also 4 knee surgeries, a broken tibia on his left leg and an inflammation at his cervical vertebra.
Tiger is not alone with these injuries. Thousands of golfers suffer because they hurt themselves. And nearly all Tour Players are injured. The Center of Excellence for Golf Biomechanics owned by Frank Drollinger has made a file with Tour Players who withdraw because of an injury or who has published their injuries.
The question we have to ask is: what are the reasons for these golf injuries?
Frank Drollinger had the same problems like Tiger. This was the reason why he analyzed the biomechanics of the golf swing and all the hardware. Drollinger had a 20 year long education in biomechanics and also in management systems like “kaizen”.
Frank knows that it is necessary to fix the current status and to cooperate with high qualified research organizations, which are able to measure the stress during one traditional golf swing and the sport medical conclusions.
Frank Drollinger found out that there are two reasons causing stress to the body of golfers:
First main reason are the traditional golf shoes with spikes on the soles. They prevent the natural motion of the construction of the human body during the swing torque.
Drollinger placed a research order at the University of Tübingen in Germany which is an expert in measurements of Newton-Meter during motions.
They found out that each golf swing creates 14 Nm/kg (5lbs/pound) stress because of torsion in the body. Hereby the main stress during the traditional golf swing arises between 0,2 and 0,7 sec. after the ball impact.
These measurements have an additional relation to the individual body weight and club head speed of each golfer. So there is a bandwidth and individual number of stress to the body. But Tiger Woods has more stress because of his peak club head speed of 128 mph, plus his body weight, which is more than the PGA Teaching Pro who was the test person in Germany.
This was the reason why Frank Drollinger looked for a solution which discharges the stress of torsion like a lightning conductor. So he developed a shoe with a fixed sole and a moveable shoe-shaft which is able to turn up to 32 degrees.
The sole moves after the ball impact and therefore has no influence to the ball’s flight. It is useable with every swing philosophy. The University in Tübingen / Germany measured again with the same PGA Teaching Pro and they figured out that they are able to reduce the stress up to 99%.
So Drollinger named his shoe innovation “Turning-Shoe Health Promotor”. The Turning-Shoe has three health advantages:
1. health protection
2. health promotion
3. therapy after injuries.
So this Turning Shoe would not only help Tiger Woods, it helps millions of golfers consider their health as valuable. Drollinger ckecked also the rules of golf. They say, that you are not allowed to injure other golfers. The conclusion of this is therefore that a golfer has to play under a human ethical spirit – so a golfer is not allowed to injure himself. Also the prupose of Anti-Doping has the purpose to promote golfers health. So it is also in an direct relation that we have to pursuit an motor healthy swing way. Last but not least golf is since 2009 under the big picture of the Olympic Spirit. This emphases claims of The Rules of Golf. The IOC has an special Medical Code. April 2011 the Medical Commission has had an World Conference with 940 attendies with the main headline of “Injuriy and illness prevention in Olympic Sport. Drollinger said also Tour Players and Teaching Pros are sportmedical examples for all golfer. So all what they do is under the duty to care about the health of the game.
The second reason of golf injuries is the kind of the traditional swing motion. The great Ben Hogan has fixed this motion more than 50 years ago. In Drollingers opinion Ben Hogan was the greatest golfer in lifetime. But the evolution moves in all areas of human activity. Drollinger has the experience in paradigm changes in Alpin Ski Sport. They changed the traditional swing to the Carving Ski Swing System with a lot of performance advantages.
So Drollinger knows how to describe a method. He was educated to use the method model of Prof. Dr. Göhner, a well know sport scientist. So Drollinger shared the traditional golf swing in all his main functions, which was necessary to permute the total swing motion. Frank find out that there are some motions which are unhealthy and avoid an high end energy transfer quality to the ball. One of this motion parts are the lateral motion of the hip during the backswing and also the lateral motion during the front swing. The first lateral motion has the result that we find 85 % of the body weight on the right foot. So every biomechanical expert, physicist, or technical engineer will conform that during this static situation, the muscles are not able to work active. So the arm motion in the downswing is faster that the passive legwork. This has the result, that the big muscles of the leg has no energy influence to the club head and ball speed.

So Frank Drollinger, who self has the claim that his active swing method he named Free-Release, is the follower method of the great Ben Hogan, changed the lateral motion during the back swing to an rotational motion around the core point. The advantages of this swing evolution are huge. First the golfer is able to use his main muscles for additional swing energy. Also he is able to fix his core nearly up to the ball impact. The result of fixing the core – Frank use foot preasure plates to measure this core quality – is the possibility for an repeatable ball impact. Frank measures this quality by the ankle position of the club head in relation to the parallel ball axis to the target horizon
And further advantage using this swing method is that the possibilities for swing motion mistakes are reduced by a factor of 4. This has the good news for golfers that the learing progress will rise 8 times faster. This means that a student who use the “Golf Active Method Free-Release” will need 8 times less time to learn. So students save a lot of money.
Therefore the “Golf Acitve Method” is able to improve the performance of each golfer up to 35%. Tour Players up to 20% in energy transfer to the ball and measureable precision.
Drollingers method supports also health promotion, because this really new method reduces the unhealthy stress to the body significantly.
So there is not only hope for the health of Tiger. There is hope for millions of injured golfers and millions of golfers who despaire of the difficulty of the old unhealthy “Torison-Swing-Method”.
Tiger is unguilty – his “old shoe system” and the “Torsion Swing Method” are responsible for his injuries and swing problems.
The “Golf Acitve Method Free-Relase” is a multiple weapon for golfers health and swing quality.

About Frank Drollinger:

• he also invented the Golf-Balance-Check and “Motoric Taping”
• and trained more than 250 medical experts of orthopaedics to become a “Golf-Medical-Coach”.
• Drollinger is considered to be initiator of the implementation of a health management system in golf.
• Furthermore Drollinger teaches top-coaches of tour players and tour players in Europe, Asia and America.
• He offers a biomechanical long term training with the aim to become a tour professional especially for talented young people.

The Priority of Golf Performance Diagnosis

In February 2010 I met a Golf Professional, who had no good results at the national Pro Tour. His management made so much pressure to him that not only his left ankle but also his mind was badly injured. His left ankle had a chronically over bending of the ligaments and after some minutes of training he suffered from strong pain. His sponsors were so unsatisfied that they canceled all support to him.

So I called him and said: I saw your golf swing – and it is clear which are the reasons that you are not able to qualify for the European Tour. 1. You train into an injury because of the construction of your golf shoes. Your inner body intelligence said – this is a no go. 2. Your leg and hip work is passive. 3. Your alignment is poor.

We started some training units at the “Center of Excellence Golf Active Method Free-Release” by using the Turning Shoe for his future long-term health plan. His suffering reduced – but he still has a shoe contract with “Injury Shoes” until the end of the year.

Because he used my Golf Active Method Free-Release we got nearly 100% perfect measured SMASH7-results.

With the new method we improved the energy transfer to the ball, his sideline quality, his ball-clubface angle, his X-Factor 2 and 3 and we had a long-term health plan. Also we changed from his passive leg and hip work to my Active Method Free-Release.

So we advanced him to the “Head of Technical Demo Team Golf Active Method Free-Release” in July 2010. In December he passed the European Q-School in competition as #6. So he was allowed to play the European Tour besides Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer.

Conclusion:
1. The Golf Active Method Free-Release improves every Tour Professional up to 15%.
2. The Turning-Shoe protects and therapies the athlete. It moves after the ball impact. So it reduces the stress up to 99% measured with kinematic measurements.
3. All hard golf training, all hard cardio and athletic training are pointless if an athlete does not protect his long-term health. This means to reduce the share force, friction, torsion and vibrations.

The Free-Release-Health Plan for Golfers – which is never too late to start – is the main claim of the Rules of Golf. The Spirit of the Game says, that you have to deal with your health in an ethical relation. This means you are not allowed to injure yourself – if there is an alternative. The Etiquette claims that you are not allowed to injure other golfers – so the “argumentum e contraio” says, you are not allowed to injure yourself. Also the IOC Charta and the IOC Medical Code says: “Safety First to the athlete”. We have to do everything to protect the health of an athlete.

It is “chic” to fight for health. There are huge programs of health protection against Cancer, Aids etc..

If you ask responsible humans whether they would support these programs – I am sure every one of these people would do for cancer and Aids. If you ask them whether they support health protection of golfers – the same people “shame” to act.

We should look out of the box and learn from other sports: 95% of the skiing kids use helmets for passive health protection.

So a health plan for athletes or amateur golfers and “Safety First for Golfers” is the main claim of the Rules of Golf and the IOC Charta.

If you want to train with kids or Pro Golfers the list of priorities is as follows:
#1 is to create a functional health plan. The main part of this health plan is using the Turning-Shoe.

#2 is to work on the golf biomechanics with the best method worldwide: Golf Active Method Free-Release.

#3 is to create a performance diagnostic plan.

If you want to deal smart – stick to this order!

If you have any questions feel free to email me.

Cheers

True Golf Christmas Story

Dear Golfers,
Today we celebrate Christmas. The last days of the year follow. What a year!

In March I met a German Golf Professional for the very first time. Nobody would have bit one $ on his future success. His home country club canceled any support to him. He had to pay Range and Green Fee. The stress they caused to him was bad for his health. So he quit professional golf.

I called him and said: “ I saw your swing on Youtube. I am able to change your passive parts of the swing motion to active parts. This will improve your energy transfer to the ball and improve also your repeatable Driving Accuracy and Greens in Regulation. It will only be possible to improve this swing parts with the “Golf Active Method Free-Release” – a new “Software” – a really new Golf swing method after the great Ben Hogan. I developed this new method.

I saw also that your body suffers because of the stress, torque and friction during every swing. I know his body weigh is around 90 kg / 198 lbs. We measured that per each kg a golfer has 14 Nm stress to the ankle, knee, tibia bone, hip and spine.

So his stress by each ball hit is 1.260 lbs. Hitting 200 balls a day the stress would be 252.000 Nm. Hitting 300 days a year the total stress is 75.600.000 Nm etc. So I said: “Lets do a medical analysis that we know what is the health state of the art”.

Because my main rule is: “Safety First” to the athlete. This is what the translation of the “Spirit of the Game” means and it is exactly the claim of the IOC Medical Code.

We have to reduce this stress to his body because we know that he is badly injured. The solution for this is the “Turning-Shoe”. This shoe has a turning sole. It moves 0,2 sec after ball impact. So there is no influence to the swing. You are able to use any swing philosophy. But I recommend working fundamentally with my “Golf Active Method Free-Release”.

The function of this clever shoe sole system is to reduce the peak stress which arises 0,7 sec after ball impact up to 99%.
Working some weeks with him we decided to advance him to the “Head of Demo Team Golf Active Method Free-Release” because of the good progress of his swing data measured with double radar.

During November he joined the Q-School to become a European Tour Player. After the second day of the final 6 rounds he was #1 of the leader board. His finish position was #6. He played a 65 at his second and his last round. Now he is a European Tour Player and 2011 he will play besides Kaymer and Westwood.

What are we able to learn from this true story?
It is not hard training. It is not high-end training conditions. To be competitive in golf means for now and the future to work with the best solutions and the best method which are possible to use.

To know what is the best is the most difficult part of the game.
I recommend scientific work and measured data. This is what we have done. You don’t have to trust me. You are free to go this scientific way and the way with the measured data.

Helping a Pro during a time nobody believes on him – help him to become a European Tour Player – that’s a true Christmas Story 2010.

Best regards and thank you for your friendship

Health Safety System = performance

Michelle Wie withdrew after struggling through the first round at Lorenas´ with back pain. She said she’s been plagued with a bulging disc and pain from two cysts near her spine. “I was very excited to be here, but, unfortunately, I can’t play anymore,” Wie said. “I’m going to see the doctor tomorrow and hope he can treat me until I feel better.”

Michelle is the next sample for golf injuries – We know nearly all Tour Players and 22 Million amateur golfers suffer of injuries each year.

..stress, friction, torque, vibrations… are the reasons, that after the ball impact one swing generates ca. 1000 Nm. Hitting 200 balls a day à 200.000 Nm a day. Hitting 300 days a year à 60.000.000 Nm a year etc. Hitting balls with the “Safety-System” Turning Shoe will reduce this stress up to 99%! Risk reduction of injuries – 99%.

Therefore the “Easy Turning Shoe” (Health Safety System) is the only solution for long term performance. This Smart-Shoe works with an active turning sole like a safety system comparable with a safety system as you can find it in cars like Daimler-Benz, BMW, Porsche, VW, Volvo, GM, Toyota, Honda etc. – but after the ball impact. So you are able to use this solution with ervery swing system. (the Free-Release-Method improves energy transfer and repeatable ball impact quality and balance during B1 – measured with D-Radar etc.).

“If I have the possibility to use a safety system – I am wise enough to use it.

Before I buy a car – I look at the quality of the safety system (I read a lot of car magazines, because I am interested in the developing of design and technique) – If you buy a golf shoe – you should ask if it has a safety system.

I’m sure that you want to care about the health of your students, your friends or kids and your members.

All Golfers are obligatet to protect the health of Golfers! We are a part of the Olympic Movement.

Yes, Golf is a part of the Olympic Movement.

Yes United Golfers is the leading Corporation for sportmedical health research world wide.

Yes, United Golfer has not only objective, measured facts – we have functional solutions and alternatives to protect the health of golfing athlets.

Yes everyone who is a part of the game knows the sportmedical facts: conventional golf shoes are the reason for 1000 Nm/750pound* stress to the body, joints, cartilage, ligaments and bones. The Turning Shoe system reduces this stress up to 99% to 10 Nm (*73 kg/163 lbs).

Reminder:

IOC Charta:
Mission and Role of the IOC
The IOC’s role is: to encourage and support measures protecting the health of athletes;

IOC Medical Code:
Chapter II: Protection and Promotion of the Athlete’s Health during Training and Competition
7. General Principles

7.1. No practice constituting any form of physical injury or psychological harm to athletes should be acceptable. Members of the Olympic Movement should ensure that the athletes’ conditions of safety, well-being and medical care are favourable to their physical and mental equilibrium. They should adopt the necessary measures to achieve this end and to minimise the risk of injuries and illness. The participation of sports physicians is desirable in the drafting of such measures.

7.3. For the benefit of all concerned, measures to safeguard the health of the athletes and to minimise the risks of physical injury and psychological harm should be publicised for the benefit all concerned.

7.4. Measures for the protection and the promotion of the athletes’ health should be based on the latest recognised medical knowledge.

7.5. Research in sports medicine and sports sciences is encouraged and should be conducted in accordance with the recognised principles of research ethics, in particular the Declaration of Helsinki adopted by the World Medical Association (last revised in Seoul, 2008), and the applicable law. It must never be conducted in a manner which could harm an athlete’s health or jeopardise his or her performance. The voluntary and informed consent of the athletes to participate in such research is essential.
7.6. Advances in sports medicine and sports science should not be withheld, and should be published and widely disseminated.

1-2-3 X-Factor Frank Drollinger´s Free-Release-Method

according to the Free-Release method developed by Frank Drollinger

There is a TV advertising spot in Germany that I like a lot: “Research is the best medicine.” This is precisely what we do at United Golfers: we conduct research with the aim of developing products that offer unique customer benefits. Customer benefits are the focus of our work. We believe that customers and pupils are often cleverer than the treatment afforded to them by sports salespersons and golf instructors.

During the development of the Free-Release method we realized that the X-factor was mentioned frequently. The X-factor was always understood among experts to mean the angle of the hips-shoulder axis during the backswing. Nothing that I would alter from the biomechanical viewpoint (except for non-existent balance). The ideal position of the shoulder is almost 90° to the ball-target line and the hip rotation less than 46° at the finish of the backswing.

However, from the viewpoint of sports medicine and performance we established that there are two other very significant X-factors during the swing movement, which have a considerable influence on both the quality of the transfer of energy to the golf ball and the physiological implementation of the golf swing: X-factor 1 on impact and X-factor 3 at the finish.

The Free-Release 1-2-3 X-factor is analyzed and optimized biomechanically at our Centre of Excellence for Golf in Germany, especially for tour professionals and highly motivated amateurs.

The transfer of energy is measured using a double radar measuring device, the effects from the perspective of sports medicine are measured using kinematics, case studies and Siemens MRT 3 Tesla equipment. It has become clear from these measurements that the Free-Release method enables far better results than the Ben Hogan swing method and its variations. For this reason we bet against every golf instructor, tour professional and amateur that our best “man” can obtain better results (Smash 7 according to FRM) using the Free-Release method than any challenger can.

All performance tests with tour professionals involve use of the Easy Turning shoe: the healthiest golf shoe in the world that can be bought for money, because only a healthy golfer can achieve sustainable performance.

Check your 1-2-3 X-factor using a high speed camera and report your experiences to me.

Always on call for customers and pupils – yours sincerely,

Frank Drollinger

80% of Sean Floey´s student´s had lower back issues!

Sean Foley the guy who teaches the likes of Sean O’Hair, Hunter Mahan, Justin Rose and occasionally Tiger Woods, is featured at Golf Digest – ‘4 Steps To Save Your Back -Take off the stress and play golf pain-free’

Sean says, “When I started teaching 16 years ago, it seemed that 80 percent of my students had lower-back issues.

Frank Drollinger: the only solution…1. E-Turning Shoe with a joint inside the sole 2. Free-Release-Method….balance B1 (set up backswing impact), active legwork to speed up the hip…

Golf Biomechanics: X-Factor 1-2-3 (Free-Release)

let´s talk about the Free-Release (Frank Drollinger) 3! X-Factors:

X-Factor is the angle-relation between hip axis and shoulder axis.

X-Factor 1 shows us the possibility of swing power. Hip position at the backswing ca. 35 to 45 degrees and shoulder 90 degrees

X-Factor 2 shows us at the moment of ball impact if the hip was moved under Free-Release active legwork. We check this quality by high speed cameras.  So it is logical that you need measureable balance during B1 (setup backswing impact). If the right heel is at the impact moment still on the ground but the hip turned we call this situation anticipation of hip motion without the effect of additional energy.

X-Factor 3 (finish position) shows the physiology of the swing. If the hip is behind the shoulder we have huge stress to the back, spine, discs and vertebras. This works with active legwork. If the legwork is passive – this means the hip moves not because of active legwork but because of the power of the swing rotation. We have also huge stress at the back, spine, discs and vertebras.

Conclusion: Balance (B1) is needed to ensure active legwork. Balance (B1) and active legwork are main functions in the Free-Release-Method. This is the basic for a healthy golf swing

Thank you Frank!

Just trying to make a small difference with the golfers I train. If I help improve my clients game and improve the longevity of their golf game I have killed two birds with one stone. Frank thank you for the knowledge in making golf easier for all of us!”

Peter Lonard G Out Jun 28 hip September?
Latest News:
In a July 7 update on his web site, Peter Lonard has announced that he will not return to competition this month. In late June, he was hopeful that he could resume live action shortly, but he has elected not to push his recovery from hip and knee surgeries. “My specialist is happy enough with the progress and I am now playing on a regular basis,” Lonard said, “but he has suggested that it is not worth placing too much early pressure on it at this stage. All the progress we have made since the operation might come unstuck and so I am prepared to wait a little longer. I would rather do that and be sure than overdo it. I hope to be back playing tournament golf around September or October but even if I have to write off most of this year then at least I know I am giving everything the best possible chance of a full recovery.”

Nick O’Hern G Out Jun 13 knee surgery October?
Latest News:
Nick O’Hern will be out of action for several months following surgery on both of his knees. The lefty last teed it up at THE PLAYERS Championship (71-73=MC), where he tore the meniscus in his left knee. With a dodgy right knee that has been scoped a couple of times in recent years, O’Hern decided to have both knees repaired simultaneously. He had arthroscopic surgery on the left and reconstructive surgery on the right. “It got to the point with my knees that I thought this isn’t worth it so we organised the operations,” he said. “It’s a shame, but that’s the way it happens.” With nearly $400K in the bank in 11 starts this year, look for the Aussie to receive a Major Medical Extension affording him roughly 15 starts to earn what should be about $275K. There is a slim chance that he could return to competition in October and earn his 2011 card the old-fashioned way.

Chez Reavie G Out Jun 2 knee surgery 2011
Latest News:
Chez Reavie had reconstructive surgery on his right knee in Scottsdale on Tuesday, and will miss the remainder of the 2010 season. The 2008 Canadian Open champion has struggled considerably this year, cashing just six times in 15 starts and none for a top 30. His knee has been swollen since the Bob Hope Classic, and a recent MRI revealed a tear of the meniscus. “The doctor said there were no complications and it went well,” said the 28-year-old Reavie, who tore the meniscus once before in high school, shortly after he tore his ACL, neither of which was never repaired. “The doctor told me he was surprised I lasted this long without an ACL. If I didn’t have the work done now I could be in further damage and arthritis sooner rather than later so I decided to get it done.” He’ll begin 2011 on a Major Medical Extension awarding 13-15 starts to earn what should be about $550K.
