The good news: you will find your best golf in the future. I have developed the Free-Release-Method. “Free-Release” means that your swing has no resistance during the motion. I have optimized some main functions of body motions as recorded by Ben Hogan 80 years ago.
- Set up:
In the set up your body weight is divided equally between both feet. You are perfectly balanced; your head stays in the middle and moves only after your club has hit the ball.
- Backswing:
Start your backswing with the right hip and shoulder, and rotate around your spine; slowly but under pressure; your body weight stays 50:50, keep your left arm stretched. Do not turn your hip more than 45 degrees.
- Downswing:
Start your downswing with the right big toe. The goal is to speed up your hip. If you can watch the moment of impact, have a look at your hip position. If the hip is in the same position as at the set up you will create no power. Your hip should be already turned 15 to 30 degrees towards the target.
Attention: an ideal active hip rotation is very difficult; you need a very good workout program for this; I recommend a daily training of 5 minutes with the Golf Power Trainer. I developed this training aid especially to help golfers to improve their active leg work.
4. Shortly before impact:
Perform a positive body weight transfer, your wrist will speed the club through the ball. Attention: I recommend wearing the Turning Shoe, because this technique will reduce the strain placed on your joints, cartilage, bones, ligaments, spine and disks.
- After impact and finish position:
After impact, turn using the mechanical joint in the Turning Shoe. Your eyes focus on the ball towards the target.
Advantages of the Free-Release-Method: less lateral hip movement, no hypermobile point of gravity, repeatable and high end impact quality, improved energy transfer, improved precision, optimal ball spin, perfect ball flight. If you use the Turning Shoe you will not exert stress on the body, and you will have more fun and a better health. Incidentally, the Free-Release golf swing is four times simpler than the old Ben Hogan Method.
Frank Drollinger #1 Golf Biomechanics is the successor to Ben Hogan, because he has optimized the main functions in the swing method that is more than 80 years old. He has optimized the energy transfer to the ball and measures these results with double radar. Tour players are able to improve their game by up to 10 % – amateurs by up to 20 %. Drollinger has created an education program with a 100% money back guarantee. He has also developed the Turning Shoe in order to reduce the strain, protect joints and the cartilage – for golfers of all ages and especially for golfing kids. The Golf Power Trainer is the first training tool with which the student is able to train active leg work, stabilize the central axis and achieve a repeatable swing plane.
Drollinger is based in New York USA and Stuttgart Germany. dro@free-release.com
